Coming Up with Strategic Partners with Travel
If you have ever been to one of my presentations or have been through my TASK program you know how much I love Strategic Partnerships. Even if you haven’t heard me talk before though, I’m sure you can appreciate the importance of them and how they can help you grow your business without costing you or your partner anything.
Still, one of the most common questions I get is “Tammy, how do I find a strategic partner for my travel business?” This post was created to answer that question and to get your creative juices flowing to help you come up with your own ideas for who could be your next strategic partner.
It could be a charity – I’ve partnered with charities countless times to help them raise money and to raise my brand awareness. Is there a cause you’re passionate about in your area? If so why not draft a proposal to them offering to do a trip giveaway that they sell raffle tickets for to raise money for them? Then, go to one of your travel vendors to secure the free trip for the promotion and bam! Three businesses are happy from one partnership! You, your travel vendor and the charity you’re helping.
It could be a wedding show – Let’s say you want to get in on a wedding show to get leads for honeymoons and destinations weddings. Again, get a free trip from one of your vendors and then ask the show hosts to give you a free booth so they can promote the chance for attendees to win a free honeymoon!
How about the vendors at the wedding show? – One travel agent I worked with partnered with a photographer from a free wedding show she got into. Now, when the photographer gets a new client he mentions this agent to the client for their honeymoon needs and she gives him a percentage of her commissions from those clients.
What about any local business? – You could partner with a yoga studio, a massage parlor, even a salon and offer some kind of special discount that their clients can receive to book with you. Get creative! Your strategic partner gets to give clients a valuable offer while getting your travel company’s name out to their clients.
I hope this gave you some ideas for potential strategic partners in your area. Want to know even more about TASK? Click HERE.
